Does Cutting Carbs Make You Lose Weight?

High-fiber foods with complex carbs, like whole grains, potatoes and beans, are a good source of energy your body needs. Which carbs to eat and which ones to avoid : As a matter of fact, there are two types of carbs: simple and complex. Because complex carbohydrates take longer to break down, the molecules of sugar enter the blood stream slowly.

Eat complex carbohydrates with dinner, and mostly protein before bed. The complex carbohydrates and whole grains are a great source of vitamins, minerals and useful dietary fiber

Carbohydrate foods with a lot of sugar cause insulin levels to go up and make you hungry several hours later. Carbohydrates, whether they are in the form of pastas or chocolate cake, turn into glucose once they enter the bloodstream.

The absolute first order of business is to nail down the diet portion of the fitness equation immediately. This means no sweets, no liquor, cut the saturated fat way back and knock out those man-made refined carbs; bread, pasta, etc

Start by eliminating as much fat and sugar as possible. You will need to weight train 2-3 times a week and do some cardio 4-6 times a week.

Your nutritionist or dietitian can use a food diary to help you determine if your current eating habits are healthy and where your diet is going wrong, if you are getting too much or too few calories. A food diary can also help you know if you are getting enough fruits, vegetables, whole grains and healthy proteins each day as well as determining if your carb-fat-protein ratios are in healthy proportions. Water is also a good alternative and remember that soft drinks that have caffeine get into the question of depletion of calcium from the bones, even if it’s a diet drink.

Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend a daily total fat intake between 20-35 % of calories with most fats coming from polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats such as fatty fish, nuts and vegetable oil (except palm of coconut oil). Dietary carbohydrates  include the complex carbohydrates – starch and fiber. During digestion all carbohydrates except fiber break down into sugars.

Eat the skin on potatoes. Make sure you also drink plenty of fluids to help the fiber work.

Eating lots of fruits and vegetables can help reduce your risk of cancer. Eating a balance of foods that contain carbohydrates (carbs for short),  protein, and fat every day will help keep your blood glucose close to normal. Eating right and being physically active aren’t just a diet or a program. They are keys to a healthy lifestyle.

A healthy, balanced meal of complex carbohydrates, protein, fruits and vegetables is exactly what you need to stay mentally sharp throughout the day.

I lost 30 pounds in three months. I’m not an expert, but I do speak from experience. Most of this, I learned on my own or through close friends and family members. Low Carb Diet

In this cooking video, I detail how to make one of my staples of the diet — low carb fried chicken. You don’t have to give up the joy of fried chicken, and contrary to low fat diets, you can eat the skin too! I have fried chicken at least once a week almost. Chicken has a great amount of protein as well as delicious fat in the skin. I display 2 of the 3 methods that are among the acceptable coatings for chicken or chicken-fried foods (like Country Fried Steaks): * Parmesan Cheese – Induction friendly * Carbquik breading — I typically buy mine from Netrition or Amazon. www.amazon.com * Crushed Pork Rinds. ** not shown Just run the pork rinds through a food processor to crush the rinds into smaller pieces. You would be surprised by how tasty this is, and how little pork rinds flavor there is remaining. I had intended to show this method as well, but Wal-mart wasn’t selling them anymore. Here is the recipe for the breading: * 1 cup of Carbquik flour * 2 TBS Paprika * 1 TBS Black Pepper * Dashes of Cayenne Pepper, Chili Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Poultry Seasoning Thanks for watching my videos and subscribing for those that have. You guys are the best to keep me motivated.
